YOUR SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION TO LU:
Orientation includes information about student services, academic life, academic advising, student life, and receiving your class schedule.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email and reminder emails leading up until your scheduled orientation.

NOTE: Your orientation is not confirmed until your payment has been received.

Is your degree 100% online? Will you take all of your classes online and never attend classes on the Beaumont campus (not just in your first semester but all of the classes for your major)?

NSO Registration Information

New Student Orientation (NSO) is the next step in your journey to becoming a Lamar University Cardinal. At NSO, you will receive all of the information you will need to feel confident on your first day of class. All new Cardinals are required to attend and all transfer students are highly encouraged to attend. Please complete this form to reserve your spot.

You will be required to pay the orientation fee at the end of this form. Please have your payment ready.

If you do not complete the payment portion of this form, your Orientation Reservation is not complete and your spot is not reserved.

Students are only allowed 2 guests.

Please select if you would like to attend the Full Day Session or Express Session of Transfer Orientation, both happen on July 29^th. The cost is the same for both programs.

Full Day: Full day orientations have college success sessions and other engagement activities lasting from 9am-4pm.

Express Session: Express sessions are half-day sessions for students whose schedule might not allow them to be on campus for a full day. Express sessions focus solely on College Success and resources, this session is from 9am-1pm.

Keep in mind that if you applied to a pre-professional program, such as Pre-Med or Pre-Law, you will need to declare a major and then select the pre-professional concentration option on the next question. If you don't know what major is the best fit for you, please select University Studies - Multidisciplinary. You can discuss your options with the University Studies Advisor.

Transfer NSO

You will need to meet with your advisor to enroll in courses prior to attending Transfer Orientation. Course registration opens in April. To connect with your academic advisor and schedule an advising appointment, contact the transfer liaison, at transferadvocate@lamar.edu.
