Lamar University is committed to providing fee waivers to students with demonstrated financial need. Students who qualify for a fee waiver will not be required to pay the application fee. Eligible freshmen and transfer applicants who demonstrate financial need can submit an application fee waiver to cover the application fee.
A submission request does not guarantee that your application fee will be waived. Students that submit a fee waiver request must meet eligibility by submitting the correct documentation to support the request. LU’s Office of Admissions will review your request. If your fee waiver request is denied, you will be required to pay the application fee.
International applicants, returning students, non-degree seeking students, applicants seeking a second bachelor's degree, graduate students and online students are not eligible for a fee waiver and are required to pay the application fee at the time of application.
You may qualify for a full application fee waiver based on the Student Aid Index (SAI) information we receive after you submit the FAFSA (please allow time for processing). Students who are Pell eligible will have their application fee, including any previously deferred fee, fully waived. To qualify, provide a copy of the most recent FAFSA Submission Summary if you applied to FAFSA and are eligible to receive Pell Grant.
To request a fee waiver, upload your supporting documentation.
